Well I did go home for three years in between. But I was only gone for a day here.

Yes. Now and then it will. You're droned for a period of time, usually a day to a week, though it has known to be longer.

I was home for three years. I didn't remember a thing about this place till I woke up in my normal room here and discovered I'd missed one day and yet was three years older.

Quite. Especially when you're trying to remember things that happened to you about three years ago, when they happened to everyone else a week ago.

Not to mention getting used to all these strange machines again.

A few months now. I think it was November.

Yes, it took a few days, but I managed to get used to it.

I live with England, Sophie and Tavros.

Sophie? I've talked with her a couple of times, she's really nice. Don't think I've talked to the other two, though.

Yes. She is. I've been living with her and England for a while. Tavros is rather new. He's ...a troll of some sort. Rather large horns. Apologizes for things all the time.

England is... Is.... well a country of course. And also ....England.

...rather hard to explain. He's not a bad sort for a father though.

[Hiccup is mildly confused. He hasn't actually met any of the countries yet, and the concept is still a little fuzzy to him since he came from a culture and place where countries were largely unimportant.]

I've met a couple of the trolls. They're pretty fun, actually.

Oh. Yes, there's quite a few of them here. They're personifications of countries. I've meet quite a few of them. England has a large family here.

[Who keep breaking into the house in the middle of the night.]

It's just... weird, because back home we didn't really have countries. Or if we did, we didn't know about them and it wasn't really important.

We didn't really have them at home either. We had area's of land that had names. But they weren't countries really. More like regions.
