Well at least I'm thinking clearly now.

[She's holding onto the telephone, it seems the best thing to get her message across]

Has anyone seen a large group of small blue men around?

They're very noisy and are probably stealing something, drinking or fighting. Or a combination of all three.

Ah! Perhaps fish? W-we could stop by the market, then, and buy some fresh fish. I'm sure Sophie and Nanako would be delighted--fish for dinner, all that. I'll cook it myself!

What do markets sell around here?

Plain sorts of food, nothing really spectacular. Cans and jars of things, and the useful tidbits here or there. Are... Are you too old for toys? They sell those--too--

Yes, I am thirteen.

I have a few at home. [Well they're more like her brothers]

Well... if you were a fairy, you wouldn't have to pay taxes.

But that's good! That's very good, a few toys it is. And... yes, perhaps some mathematics and astronomy textbooks, as well. That's all the rage these days for children, isn't it?

[She choses to ignore the fairy bit however her attention is caught with the word books. She looks quite interested]

They have places that sell books here?

Certainly, and a nice library, as Sophie tells me.

She said they might have books on embroidery. Not that America would know anything about quality threadwork, but I could start a few projects here or there.

[Now she looks very interestd.]

A real library...hm, that should be interesting to see. I wonder how many books they have.

You do threadwork?

Probably loads of books about hamburgers. Are you interested in any books in particular?

Yes, here and there. The pillows look like they could use some patterns--perhaps birds--brighten up this dreary place.

Ham-burger? What's that?

This place is rather strange.

A rather simplistic food that America is always chomping on. I-It tastes all right.

Are there a lot of words here you don't know?

Well I know the ones I'd find at home. For example, egress still hasn't changed it's meaning. But I've never heard of a television or a telephone before.

[There's much more but she doesn't particularly like not sounding smart.]

Err... more like bread and some sort of meat in them. Like sandwiches, except more America.

Well, that's not uncommon, there are people who don't know about tellies and phones. The important thing is knowing how to use them, all that.

They have ham in them?

Yes I suppose that is true. Still I'd like to know more wordsd from this place.

Education is important. And you can stay in your room reading--yes, it all works out well.
