Post Six: Trying Out An Old Skill

[If you are walking by 1670 Nelson street you'll see a strange sight. There is a small girl with a witches pointed hat sitting on the grass. She is wearing some large sensible boots that seem out of place with her normal outfit.

Oh and she also appears to be dead.
However if you look closer you can see a sign clutched in her hands that reads

I am not dead!
Approach?]

[A worried Sophie has spotted her, and hurries out, but then notices the sign.]

...Tiffany? What are you doing?

[It take a few moments but Tiffany blinks and seems to come back to life]

Sophie? [She shakes her head a bit as her thoughts try to sour back to the sky with the bird's mind she'd been hitching a ride with]

Yes. What are you trying to do out here?

[identity profile] the-wee-big-hag.livejournal.com 2009-12-28 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
[She manages to get her mind clear again]

I got part of my magic back it seems. I was trying to borrow. It seems to be working well.

[Interested, she sits down on the grass with Tiffany.]

Borrow? What do you mean?

[identity profile] the-wee-big-hag.livejournal.com 2009-12-28 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
It's a bit of magic I learned accidently. Witches were I come from can take themselves out of their own bodies. We normally use it to borrow the minds of animals, like birds and rabbits.

Granny Weatherwax was teaching me more about it. She's the one who recomended the sign. [She held up the sign in her hands] She's been mistaken for dead a few times before she thought it up. [Of course Tiffany's sign has better grammer then Granny's.]

Interesting. I don't know if I've ever met a witch with that ability before.

[identity profile] the-wee-big-hag.livejournal.com 2009-12-28 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Well a few people can do it where I'm from but it actually takes a lot of skill to do it.

I'm getting better but I'm no where near Granny. She managed to borrow a bee hive once. And they have a collective mind.[She sounds impressed just saying that.]

I imagine that would be extremely difficult. She must be a very powerful witch.

[Nodds]
I think she's the most powerful witch on the Disc. And the best.

She sounds like someone I'd like to meet. If we weren't here, that is.

She's very....intersting. Though she mostley keeps to herself.

[identity profile] eldest-hatter.livejournal.com 2009-12-29 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a shame, though at least you've been able to meet with her.

[identity profile] the-wee-big-hag.livejournal.com 2009-12-29 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. I try to visit her.
[Smiles at the thought]
I brought her a kitten once, she named it "You"
