Post Thirty One: Doing the rounds

[There is a teenage girl knocking at your door. Yes your door.....~~unless you are Teatime.~~ She's wearing a witches hat and carrying a bag in her hands.]

[Ruri is sitting on the porch, looking tired and staring into the sky, waving slightly at the girl in the odd hat]

[Tiffany nods in greeting as she walks over.]

Hello.

"Are you here to see Scott or Tom?"

[She blinks a bit]

I was just coming by to see if anyone needed any help after recent attacks.

"I haven't seen Scott or Tom, but, I would guess they are okay. Then again, I'm recovering from the shock of having my brain sync up with Omoikane only to have him taken without preparing myself for it."

[Tiffany nods.]

A headache?

"No. More like part of my mind is missing."

[Oddly enough, Tiffany can relate.]

Were you attacking that machine as well?

"Attacking no. We did try and communicate with it. I'm just a young girl, there isn't much attacking I could do."

How did communication go?

"It used a very simple code and when I asked when it would stop, it got very angry at me."

No answer then I take it?

"No, he answered. Loudly, then killed the link. So I spent the time hiding in the shell of the buildings it already smashed."

Good idea.

[And yes, she means this.]

"And Omoikane was there with me, so it wasn't hard. Found food. Now, its just quiet in my head."

[Tiffany nods.]

What is Omoikane?

"Omoikane is the computer that I worked with. One of my few friends. I found it in the post office when the door was open."

I'm not very familiar with computers. But I know what it's like to have a voice in your head suddenly vanish.

"When I was four, I was conditioned to work with Omoikane and we have since then."

That must be strange then.

"Yes, it is."

Do you have anything you like to do? Maybe getting your mind off it might help.

"Not that I can do here. Most of what I did hasn't been invented yet in this time period."

I see.

Maybe some chores then? I usually make cheese when I need some peace and my mother here, cleans to have something to do.

"Laundry is done, the garage is clean. I can't get a hold of one of the people I was working on my project with, or at least, she sounds, wrong... You don't know anything about mechanical engineering, do you?"
